Derby Days 2013

As one of the C0-Chairs of Alpha Lambda’s upcoming Derby Days 2013, I am writing to you in hopes of gathering support for this year’s annual chapter philanthropy, which will start on April 15th and end on April 19th.  If you have not already heard, our chapter has been on the rise in the past few years, shown by our activation of 30 fine gentlemen last fall and 9 new pledges in the spring. Updates on the chapter can be found at www.badgersigs.com.

We want to continue to build our reputation not only as a social fraternity, but a charitable one.  Last year, we raised over $10,000, far more than we ever had in the past.  Our house does not want to stop there; in fact we want to increase our donation significantly. With your help, this year we hope to raise over $50,000 for the American Family UW Children’s Hospital, our new charity beneficiary.

You have given back again and again to this chapter, and as Alpha Lambda actives we would like to say thank you for all the contributions you have made over the years.  Our house would not be as strong as it is now if it weren’t for you and your invaluable contributions.  If you are around the Madison area, we encourage you to come by one of our events and see for yourselves how well the chapter is doing. We will also be hosting a silent auction that will be online by early April from which all the proceeds will be donated to the American Family UW Children’s Hospital. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to email me at grangaard@wisc.edu.

We would appreciate any donation that you feel comfortable making, and all donations made in the month of February will be matched. If this is possible for you, there is an option to donate online atwww.uwhealthkids.org/derbydays, or you may send a check made payable to ‘Sigma Chi Derby Days’ to:

On behalf of the entire Alpha Lambda Chapter of Sigma Chi, I thank you for your continued support.

In Hoc,
Mark Grangaard, Fall 2011
